INTRODUCTION - WHAT IS Operations Manager?
Operations manager is a program which allows for real-time data look-up, and quickly and efficiently permits faster completion of sales.

A customer walks into one of your stores and wants a new cell-phone and service. The clerk has him fill out a credit application form, and faxes it to someone at your "back office". Maybe they also phone to let them know that a fax has been sent. Now they wait for a response. Maybe one minute; two minutes; five minutes; thirty minutes??? OK. Someone called back and let the clerk know what deposit would be required (if any).
Now, the customer selects the phone, plan and options. These are faxed and/or called back to the "back office" for account setup on the billing system, inventory relief in the inventory system, financial transactions in the accounting system. Payment is accepted. Maybe they can accept credit card and/or checks directly or maybe they have to call the "back office" for approval.
With this process, time can be a key factor in a sale. This is were Operations Manager comes in.
